Here are E&S market personnel notices I’ve seen the past week:

Copeland, the St. Louis-based manufacturer of refrigeration, HVAC, temperature monitoring and related equipment and products, announced Nov. 4 that it has named Michael Toh president of its Asia Pacific business unit. Copeland is a standalone portfolio company of Blackstone.

“Michael’s deep knowledge of the HVAC industry combined with his extensive Asia-wide leadership experience make him an ideal leader for our Asia Pacific business,” said Copeland’s CEO Ross B. Shuster.

Toh has more than 20 years of experience in HVAC and related industries. Prior to joining Copeland, Toh led Georg Fischer’s Asia Pacific operations. He also led Honeywell Building Solutions’ Asia Pacific Sales team, and held numerous leadership positions in Johnson Controls’ Singapore, Malaysia, and China operations.

Toh held significant governance and oversight responsibilities as the vice-chairman of the board of Chinaust Group, a joint venture with a listed state-owned enterprise in China and has served as a member of the Global Executive Management team for Piping Systems.

“I’m excited to join Copeland and look forward to driving growth and innovation in this dynamic region,” said Toh. Copeland: Names Michael Toh To Head Asia-Pacific Unit; FEDA: Copeland Names Asia-Pacific President

In addition to compressors and similar products widely used in foodservice equipment refrigeration systems, Copeland includes Cooper-Atkins temperature monitoring products in its portfolio. The brands have been privately held since Blackstone bought Emerson’s Climate Technologies unit in 2023 and renamed it.

TurboChef/CookTek has named Brett Freifeld as vp of culinary innovation. In this role, he will provide expertise on culinary matters for TurboChef’s customers and partners.

Freifeld most recently spent five years as corporate executive chef at Alto-Shaam. An honor graduate of the Culinary Institute, he has several decades of expertise as culinary and culinary R&D executive with a diverse number of foodservice operations.
