The Department of Labor’s weekly reports on new claims for unemployment insurance continue to detail record numbers of claims. New claims surged somewhat a couple weeks ago and then fell below 800,000 for the week ended Oct. 22 to 787,000. It was the first time claims fell below 800,000 since the beginning of the pandemic….
