Allied Buying Corporation, the market’s oldest dealer marketing and buying group, headquartered in Lombard, Ill., recognized its members and suppliers for their achievements during the group’s annual Spring Conference May 6-9. The event was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Bellevue, Wash. Awards were presented by ABC’s current Board Pres. Marc Tell of Sam Tell Cos. and Tom Venetis, ABC executive director.
Among those receiving honors:
Service Ideas was honored with the supplier award for Overall Member Support
KaTom Restaurant Supply received three member awards, including one for Overall Total Volume Increase and another for Overall Supplier Support (the dealer with increased volume with the most suppliers)
National Restaurant Supply was presented the member award for Total Percentage Volume Increase.
Receiving runners-up awards on the supplier side were Cal-Mil Plastic Products, Churchill Dining Out, and Eastern Tabletop. Dealer runner-up awards went to Douglas Equipment, KaTom, and TAKKT Foodservices.
ABC also paid tribute to Libbey’s Karen Pierce upon her retirement. She is the most honored supplier individual in ABC’s history, winning seven Supplier Executive of the Year awards and ultimately a “Hall of Fame” award from ABC, after the group removed her from consideration from the Executive of the Year award.
